CALIFORNIA PAL ONLINE MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION/RENEWAL – 2024

Dear PAL/SAL/YAL Members,

The online membership enrollment form has been provided for you below.  The California PAL Staff and Board of Directors would like to thank you for your continued support of California PAL and we look forward to continuing to serve you in 2024 as a member chapter.  California PAL membership comes with some outstanding benefits including the one of the lowest cost group rate general liability plans of any PAL organization in the country, dynamic statewide youth programs along with first rate POST certifed training for our PAL/SAL directors.

2023 has turned out to be a year of growth as we have strived to create new partnerships with other non-profit and government organizations along with gaining new sponsorship opportunities for CALPAL programs & events.  Our membership numbers have started to slowly increase and we are finding that there are a number of new prospective chapters ready to join us.  This past year, we have also been able to resume a the majority of our youth programs including the Soccer, Life After High School and YMLA events along with the CALPAL Annual Training Conference.  We expect that 2024 will continue to see major growth as we continue to add new events like our CALPAL Regional Meetings, Boxing Tournament and hopefully a few new events that are currently in the planning stages and will be announced very soon.  California PAL has also made great strides with many of our newer initiatives like the Youth Apprenticeship Readiness Accelrator (YARA) program which is currently being funded and going strong in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County and the city of Rancho Cordova.  We are looking to expand YARA into other counties and cities throughout California.  We will also be collaborating with our collegues at the National PAL level as they will be holding their 2024 Training Conference in San Diego next year and we are looking for other ways that we can work together to bring opportunities to our California chapters!

We are also still partnered with MWG Mestmaker & Associates Insurance, for 2024 and we look forward to having a much smoother year as they have added additional staff to help take care of California PAL Group Insurance needs.  Even though there have been challenges with service issues throughout 2023, we have continued to advocate and support our members.  Please remember that this insurance program is ONLY available to members of California PAL and is not available through any other sources which is why our group rates are so cost effective.  The rates have increased just a little bit this year for the first time in around five years but our rates are still very competitive.  The link to the 2024 MWG Mestmaker General Liability / Directors & Officers Insurance Policy form has been linked below.  We are still hoping for an online system someday but unfortunatly that is our of our hands right now so PAL/SAL chapters will need to download the form, fill it out and then mail it in along with payment for your insurance policy.  Please also remember that your insurance payment is SEPARATE from the California PAL Membership fees.

Thank you again for being a member of California PAL.  Together we are the strongest and most influential statewide PAL organization in the country and with our new direction, we will continue to become even stronger and be able to offer even more benefits to our member chapters in the future.   We look forward to your membership in 2024 and to help your program be the best that it can be!

Respectfully,

Jennifer Lopez, Executive Director

Bryan Ferreira, Director of Operations

Tina Aldama, Programs Director

We are looking for an estimate of the number of youth enrolled in your program along with a rough estimate of demographic data. Thank you!

Race/Ethnicity Breakdown:

Do your best to give us an estimation of your chapter's Ethnicity & Race breakdown. Even if you do not officially track that data, please make a best guess estimate. THIS DATA IS IN PERCENTAGE FORMAT!!
If your chapter is purchasing General Liability insurance through another broker or your program is covered by the city or county, you are required to send a certificate of coverage to California PAL to be in compliance for 2024 membership.
